We are pleased to say that your
generosity has made it possible for Heartbeet to complete the Karl Konig House,
our third residence. See the image
gallery for additional pictures.
We
have welcomed the Gonzalez-Tidblom family and new
coworkers to the house. Brittany, Kei and Chris, who we
introduced to you last spring, have joined Heartbeet Lifesharing and we are now
preparing to welcome additional community members, Annie Jackson and Jared
Shaffer.
A New Barn!
While thoughts of a fourth house are
definitely on our minds, our most pressing need is for a new barn.
The old barn, original to the
property, has served us well, but we have known for some time that the day would
come when it would need to be replaced.
For the safety of our community and in order to expand our farming activities, it is necessary to build a new structure.
The farm at Heartbeet is central to our
sustainability as a community. Purpose and rhythm are found in the daily farm
chores providing healthy food and opportunity for developing work and community skills.
Logs for the construction of the barn have been harvested from our woodlot and sent to the mill. We are ready to start construction in the spring.
The estimated cost of this project is $80,000.00.
Please consider becoming a partner with us in this exciting new step for Heartbeet!
