Capital Campaign

A Fourth House!

With the completion of the new barn and maintenance building, New barn and maint bldgHeartbeet is now poised to launch its capital campaign to build a FOURTH HOME and COMMUNITY CENTER as the initial phase of its second ten year plan.

This year brings with it the joyous celebration of ten years filled with amazing accomplishment. In Heartbeet Lifesharing’s first ten years, we have developed a viable organization that provides respite and permanent residence to ten individuals with developmental disabilities. We have successfully purchased the 150 acre farm, built two new extended family homes, built a new barn to expand and strengthen our outdoor and animal care programming, and just this fall we are finished an outside farm building that will house a wood workshop space and a shed to protect our machinery. With the establishment of a new ten year footprint we are looking forward to a fourth home—that will provide four new Friends with special needs the opportunity to have successful adult life.

With ten years of success and three completed and fully-utilized extended family households, we are ready to step with confidence into our future plans of expanding to a six-house community with a community center. The anticipated fourth house is already full— with members from our waiting list who have come for trial periods and are ready and waiting to move in. The fourth house will be a home for a new family of four, three coworkers and four new residents.

A preliminary site plan sketch and cost breakdown are outlined in our most recent Fall Newsletter, and more details will be forthcoming in the new year.

Please consider becoming a partner with us in this exciting new step for Heartbeet!
